CJ Rubenak
CJ was introduced to Yoga through Public Television in the early 1990’s. She developed a home practice and attended the occasional yoga class at her local gym. Initially, she enjoyed the physical benefits of yoga and saw it as a way to stay physically fit. It didn’t take her long to understand the powerful mind-body connection and how it impacted her health and well-being. CJ began teaching in 2011 after completing a 200 Hr. teacher training at Sundance. She went on to complete 500 Hr. teacher training in 2015. Although teaching yoga has been a natural progression out of her personal practice, CJ sees herself as a student first and foremost. Her intention as a teacher is to hold space for others to experience self- awareness and personal growth. CJ holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and spent many years working in this capacity. She views teaching yoga as yet another way to be in service to others. CJ teaches Gentle Yoga, Yin, Yoga Nidra and Mixed Level classes, and recently became a Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher (TIYT). She is inspired by her teachers Valerie Immore, Christy Burnette, Ali Valdez, Francis Rhodes and her very first teacher, Lilias Folan on PBS.
