Valerie's journey has always been one of health and fitness and she has a strong background in many facets of the health industry beginning as early as 1985. As soon as she found Yoga, it became her heart's ambition to teach it and enhance the lives of others with this practice as much as yoga has blessed her own life. Her passion in yoga is yoga therapy and partner yoga. She has over 1500 hours of yoga and therapy training. Her training has come from several different styles of vinyasa yoga but primarily from Anusara Yoga. Her unique style is a blend of the principles of alignment from Anusara and the dance of body and breath in vinyasa, complimented by teaching from a place of intuition and deep understanding of the biomechanics of the body. Valerie is a teacher trainer at the 200 hr and 500 hr level and has taught in Principle Based Partner Yoga teacher certification courses.
Jennifer has been involved in physical fitness her whole life, but not until she found Sundance, did fitness become most important for her mind and soul. Jennifer started her yogic path in Chicago as a way to find an avenue for stress release and fitness after having a baby in 2002. After moving to Texas and becoming pregnant with her second child she found Sundance in 2006. Jennifer knew Sundance’s focus on a heart led practice was the perfect pairing with her desire to honor her physical practice. Jennifer’s goal as a teacher is pure. She hopes to reach people’s heart. If her students receive even a small portion of the peace and clarity that yoga has brought to her life, she will feel blessed to have served the community. Jennifer traveled to Costa Rica in 2006 to complete her teachers training program and is 200 RYT and is currently enrolled in Sundance Yoga's 500 RYT program. Jennifer has also taken teacher training in Principles of Partner Yoga, Mini Yogis (Yoga for kids), Ariel Swing Yoga and Prenatal yoga.
Anne was introduced to Yoga at Sundance in 2005 after working in the Fitness Industry as a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor for years. When experiencing not only the physical, but also the emotional and spiritual effects of Yoga, her whole perspective on how we can keep ourselves and each other healthy in every aspect, was forever changed.
Anne's lighthearted teaching style has it's roots in the Anusara-inspired teacher training from Sundance, always keeping the Universal Principles of Alignment and the heart quality in mind. Anne combines elements from her continued and varied yoga trainings with her intuitive sense for adding music and meditative themes, offering the students an opportunity to practice in a loving, empowering and safe environment.
Her goal is to help people - regardless of age, life stage and ability - experience the many benefits Yoga can have in store for them.
Deborah’s (Deb’s) yoga journey began about eight years ago when she enrolled in her first yoga class after witnessing the positive changes yoga had made in a close friend’s life. As she learned to open her physical body and strengthen her core, she also began to benefit from the mental and spiritual gifts yoga offers. Through practicing the heart-centered Anusara style of hatha yoga, she became more mindful, balanced and better able to stay in the present moment. She realized she was opening her heart as well as her body
John came to Sundance Yoga in 2005. Having competed in competitive tennis, racquetball, running, cycling, and back-packing, his body was in need of healing. Yoga provided the needed recovery and healing from years of overuse injuries. As an avid cyclist he discovered that yoga improved his balance, breathing and strength on the bicycle. Taking his yoga practice to the next level, with Valerie’s encouragement, he completed the teachers training at Sundance. In the fall of 2008 he began teaching yoga to employees at Alvin Community College. The program became an immediate success and is offered to beginning and intermediate students. John’s philosophy of yoga is to teach not only the universal principles of alignment, but to instill in each student an appreciation of the culture and history of yoga and to practice yoga not only on the mat but in their daily lives. He encourages his students to recognize that their physical yoga practice, when engaging the breath, can lead to self-awareness and change. A sense of humor and a desire to create a peaceful atmosphere guide his instructional method. In January of 2014 John completed over 1000 hours of teaching yoga and through the Yoga Alliance received his 200 hour E-RYT Certification. He is also the Provost and Dean of Instruction at Alvin Community College.
Korin Brody (E-500RYT) has over 25 years of experience in the fitness world and has been practicing yoga for 18 years. While working in fast-paced, high-stress corporate environments over the years, she craved an outlet that involved movement and relaxation to reduce stress and anxiety. After taking her first yoga class in 1997, her paradigm began to shift physically, mentally and emotionally. The more classes she took and the variety of practices she learned, she noticed a spiritual shift when she moved in and out of poses with more intention, how to breathe more freely, and focusing more on how she was feeling, instead of what she looked like or was thinking. Korin began teaching after attending the Texas Yoga Retreat at Barsana Dham Ashram in 2007. Korin holds certifications from Sundance Yoga Studio, The Yoga Institute & Bookshop, Radiant Child Yoga, and Freedom Style Yoga among others. Her eclectic style is influenced by Anusara-Inspired, Freedom Style, Classic and other Hatha yoga. She teaches a variety of classes to all levels and age groups in the Houston area and summers in Maine.
Korin also owns “Let It Be Delicious – A Small Batch Bakery" that provides healthy, nutrient-dense baked goods. Items are made with all-natural and organic ingredients that suit special dietary needs. Baked goods can be purchased at Sundance Yoga Studio in Friendswood or by special order.
Sean strives to offer a safe and judgement-free environment for yoga practitioners of every level to seek a higher understanding of themselves and others. Her Gentle Flow, Hatha Flow, and Vinyasa classes combine creative sequencing rooted in alignment with thoughtful playlists and intention-setting. As a former dancer, the fluidity and dance-like quality of Vinyasa is what drew her to the practice of yoga. Under the tutelage of Gioconda Parker and Christina Sell, Sean combines the creativity of Vinyasa, with the precision of Anusara and Iyengar to the ancient teachings of Hatha Yoga to empower everyone who crosses her path to live a vulnerable, honest and meaningful life.

I discovered yoga as a college student almost 20-years ago. While my professional path provided many opportunities to teach different subjects in various settings, I have continued learning as a student on the mat. When I became a mother of little ones, my teaching became focused at home. To keep involved with the adult world and stay in touch with my inner self, I studied under Valerie Immore. During this time I became a certified yoga instructor. I am honored to teach Pre-natal and Mommy and Me classes at Sundance. Join me during your pregnancy in Prenatal classes, then bring your newborn (and other young toddlers) to the Mommy and Me class. See you on the mat.
Discovering yoga initially at a gym, Allison was quickly drawn in and sought out a path to further explore yoga’s beauty. Finding Sundance in 2008 was the true start of her journey. Allison completed her teacher training in 2014 (200 RYT) seeking to more fully integrate the physical, emotional and mental aspects of yoga into her life. Her teaching style unites asana and meditative practices with the journeys, on and off the mat, we are all on together. Classes encourage physical awareness and reflection in a comfortable and light-hearted atmosphere.
